Mayfair’s best secret is no longer a secret. The MiMi Mei Fair dominates London’s interior and culinary industry – and all for good reason. Chinese Restaurant is Fabled Studio’s latest project to bring the glamorous elegance of Asia to the city of London Town.
If, like us, MiMi Mei Fair is at the peak of your decorative desires, don’t be afraid. I can’t teach you how to recreate the dish, but designer Tom Straw can explain exactly how to reflect its beauty in your home.
Share his modern decoration ideas below, and Fabled Designer shares everything you need to know.
1. Dare to paint

In small rooms, dark colors were used to create a enveloping, saturated space for eye candy. For example, in the parlor, I used Farrow and Ball. Palma Gray As a base for hand-painted murals. This was complemented with a bold coral punch to create a tropical atmosphere.
To bring the space to life, we often introduce contrasting colored flashes and jacquard-like patterned fabrics woven here. To reproduce this, use one color for the skirting boards, doors, cornice, and ceiling of the walls. Next, add space to the shades and fabric variations so that they don’t feel flat.
2. Add a modern twist to the timeless tassel

To provide a burgundy arched dining room, we have created a custom velvet fringed drum stool and a custom chaise lounge. The neatly tailored chaise lounges are velvet-decorated to create a sleek, contemporary look that is timeless.
At Moonbar, we also used handmade green fringed drum stools to create a modern contrast to the glossy black palette of the room. You can achieve the same effect at home with block-colored tassel cushions toned with armchairs and sofas in the living room.
3. Create a statement mantel with a flower display

When it comes to flowers, I have always learned to seek florist expertise. We worked with McQueens on flower in the restaurant to realize our vision.
Seasonal beech, olive and eucalyptus were used to arrange the mantelpieces in the Wedgwood Blue parlor room. There are magnolia branches and flowers, white hydrangea, white campanula, and white eustoma. But in your home, it’s important to create something on a scale that suits your room and choose your favorite flowers.
4. Add a gorgeous touch to the wall covering

At MiMi Mei Fair, we used different wall treatments for each room as part of creating a unique identity for each room in the restaurant. In the Peacock Room and drawing room, we requested a deep, custom-made Chinese hand-painted silk wallpaper.
Then trim the wallpaper with a beautiful gold Gimp blade to draw your design. You can achieve something similar by choosing a chinoiserie wallpaper and trimming the edges with a gold gimp blade at the joint.
5. Put wallpaper on the bathroom cabinet

The men’s bathroom featured a custom-designed black chinoiserie wallpaper, a handmade black lacquer cabinet, and a Verdesandoni marble vanity. Next, for women, we used bright greens based on traditional Chinese jade pieces. There is a green chinoiserie wallpaper and a pink Murano mirror on a marble bathroom.
Small bathroom idea [like these] It’s best to make a memorable statement. You can do this by choosing a patterned wallpaper and reflecting the color of the skirting board or cabinet paper.
You can also paint the ceiling to match the woodwork to create a wrap-around space.
MiMi Mei Fair sets the trend for interior design beyond London’s most prestigious zip code. I heard it first here.
