Whether you are eating stress or just have a thirst … sometimes you just need something sweet!
Of course, you can go to the grocery store and find your favorite mass-produced candies.Or, in my opinion, you can also check out local candy stores that offer just candy Better.. Usually there are more options, candies tend to be homemade and you support the community. It’s a win-win-win.
There are many local candy shops in the southwestern Michigan area. There are at least 6 here:
1. Rocket Fizz-Kalamazoo
Rocket Fizz is more than just a candy store. In fact, on their website, they describe themselves as follows:
Wacky, sweet, soda-like, dad’s jokes loaded the Emporium of everything sweet and weird.
Indeed, once inside, you’ll find a lot of unique candies, sodas, toys and wall art, all of which give a kind of retro feel. They are a staple of downtown Kalamazoo and are also located in Ann Arbor and Traverse City. 2. Confectionery with conviction -Kalamazoo
Confections with Convictions opened in the Kalamazoo region in 2010. Founder Dale Anderson started the business as a way to help young people with criminal records face potential employment barriers. Confections with Convictions uses Fair Trade certified organic chocolates in their products, including items such as truffles, bark, caramel and vegan items. 3. Sweet Haven-South Haven, St. Joseph
Located in South Haven, Sweet Haven features both new and retro candies, jelly belly jelly beans, fudge and saltwater toffee. They were so successful in South Haven that they decided to open a new location in St. Joe, which just opened on July 1st. Read more below:

4. Simply sensational berries-Battle Creek
Simply Sensational Berries in Battle Creek offers real food and sweets. You won’t find many sour candies in this store, but if you like chocolate-suffocated ones, they will cover you (no puns intended). 5. Mattawan Candy Company
Whatever your thirst, if you are in the Mattawan area, you can probably find it at the Mattawan Candy Company. In addition to classic candies like 100 Grand, there are also a variety of gummy candies, jelly beans, chocolate candies and sugar-free candies. You can order home delivery online or stop by the City Center Circle store. 6. Veni’s Sweet Shop-Niles
According to their website, Veni’s Sweet Shop’s recipes, techniques and candy-making traditions have been around for over 100 years. They focus on small lots of chocolate used for turtles, truffles, bark and molded chocolate. We also sell saltwater toffees, rock candy and other hard candies.
