A description of the text provided by the architect. The Hybrid House is located in the Rat Prao Wan Hin district, in the heart of Bangkok’s metropolis, on a suitable land surrounded by a two-story house and a row house environment. The house is designed for couples who are pilots. They needed a new home on the parcels of the old home, and the owner’s old home grew up and lived with his mother. It is a small land of 270 square meters. There is a requirement to design a new home for a compact and optimal space for couples. Owner requirements are space for recreation, living, work, libraries and roof decks.
The architect begins the design by analyzing the context and confirming that the Latpra Owanhin area is a high density area. Each house is close by and adjacent to each other will affect the privacy of the house. Architects provide solutions with service parts on the 1st floor and lining spaces on the 2nd to 4th floors.
The spatial arrangement was set by stacking spirals in the center of the house. The result of spatial placement is the connection of all interior spaces due to visual influences. The owner could see all the parts in the hose from all the spaces. The scenario design was created from the idea of lift stacking to capture the view of Bangkok from the 2nd floor to the upper floors and take another view.
The main material is brick, and owners admire natural materials such as brick. The bricks covered from the inside to the outside skin, making the house look huge. In addition, architects bring natural light through the interior space through the interior main staircase and skylights above the porous brick wall. Light can brighten huge walls and has a distinctive pattern of brick walls and a striking preference for bricks with black iron.
