IMC Invests in Women-Owned Businesses

International Market Centers (IMC) has acquired Dough, an e-commerce platform focused on empowering women-owned businesses. This strategic investment will be the first in a series of initiatives aimed at emphasizing and supporting value-based commerce and bringing new voices and perspectives to the brand’s IMC community. Vanessa Bruce, co-founder and CEO of Dough, has joined the IMC in a newly created role by the IMC as Vice President of Social Impact Reporting to Juniper President Eric Dean.

“Value-based suppliers are increasingly sought after in the gift, home and apparel industries,” said Bob Malichich. “And IMC is committed to developing merchandising and marketing strategies to connect these suppliers with the broader community of buyers through IMC’s physical and digital platforms. Vanessa trades as a good force. Bringing thought leadership and expertise in creating. “

Bruce takes her new role to bring Dough sellers to the B2B Business Arena through both, IMC’s newly launched B2B e-commerce marketplace, and IMC’s physical markets in Atlanta, Highpoint, and Las Vegas. Focus on that.

Since its launch in 2018, Dough has identified, scrutinized and supported companies owned by more than 1,000 women. 50% of them are led by colored women. In particular, 70% of our products are manufactured in the United States, 75% are not manufactured by Amazon, 60% are handmade and 65% are eco-friendly products. The key categories of products offered at Dough (health and wellness, apparel, accessories, skin care, upholstery, food and beverages) are gaining widespread appeal within the industry in which IMC serves. Notable among Dough sellers are Becalia Botanicals (skin care), Modern Theory (candles), Ora Ana (accessories), Salut (cocktail mixers), and Zuahaza (house decorations).

“Dough has proved that the market for women-owned products is vast. Participation in IMC connects Dough’s finest selection of brand collections with IMC’s extensive buyer network. We are pleased that buyers are now able to stock the products of women-owned companies on the shelves, “Bruce said. “Companies will have unparalleled opportunities to grow their business and profitability while having a positive impact. We can’t wait to see Dough’s brand and mission flourish at IMC.”

Prior to founding Dough, Bruce founded an award-winning branding agency, working on the products and design of several investor-backed technology startups. She holds award-winning patents and is the founder and operator. She is passionate about good access to entrepreneurship and commerce as a force to build a more inclusive, compassionate and equitable community.
