UAE – Index 2022 (International Exhibition of Interior Design, Furniture and Furnishings) managed to attract 22,000 visitors across all concurrent exhibitions in 2022.

This year’s event features extraordinary design installations from some of the best minds in the region, including “State of Mind” by ODG Design and built by depa and Stretch Ceilings, “Serenity Pool” by Kristina Zanic Consultants and built by Bond Interiors ” and “Ray of Light” by Design Infinity for Cosentino design and branding agency Brand Creative.
Elaine O’Connell, Vice President of Design and Hospitality at dmg events, hosted an exciting session and fireside chat to discuss issues such as the future of design and the changing workplace, saying: “We are very excited to welcome so many visitors from Around the world, 21% of the audience attending Index is from overseas, and 79% is from the Middle East as we start to resume in-person events.”
She said the three-day event in Dubai since 1991 is the largest single deal and networking event in the entire Middle East architecture and design industry calendar, in a uniquely dynamic region. The index will return to Dubai from May 23-25 next year.
O’Connell noted that no other event in this remarkable market has reached serious buyers as directly and comprehensively as Index.
“Buyers rely on INDEX to source everything from contract furniture to accessories, finishes and limited edition products. Professionals from the interior design industry have a unique opportunity to network with experts and colleagues,” she added.
The INDEX Design Talks Conference, Design for Work Summit and New Retail Leadership Forum brought together industry leaders and thinkers for a well-attended series of live debates and discussions on important design topics.
Some of the key takeaways from the talks include tips on how architects and designers can explore the metaverse and conquer new technologies, as well as move to more sustainable projects.
New for 2022, the Retail Leadership Forum provides dedicated intelligence and critical discussions for interior products retailers in the Middle East. As more and more retail buyers attend the show, it offers retail leaders and buyers an opportunity to learn about the latest consumer trends, logistics strategies and detailed sourcing techniques.
“We were overwhelmed by the high-caliber talent and industry experts at the event this year,” said O’Connell. “Index remains a must-attend show, allowing the design community to come together to discuss the latest topics and trends affecting the industry while keeping serious of buyers have access to the latest product launches,” he added.
