Music, art and food in downtown Minerva on Saturday
The 10th annual Brick Street Art & Jazz Festival will be held in Minerva on Saturday.
Events on North Market Street include music, food, fine crafts and interactive art for all ages. Free activities are scheduled regardless of weather conditions.
Bands include Henrique Alvim on Brazilian Jazz Guitar at 12:30pm; Erbo & the Buzz Factor on Steel Drums at 3pm; and Union Symphony Big Band from 5pm to 7pm
Saxophonist Denny Ott will perform at 10am before the official opening of the festival.

High school jazz bands performing during the day include Stage Dawgs at STEAMM College at 11:45 am; Northwest High School Rock and Jazz at 1:45 and 2:15 pm; and Minerva High School Jazz at 4:15 pm.
Other activities will include Tim Angeloni’s Strolling Magic from noon to 2pm; balloon creation by Joe Delagrange from 2 to 4pm; Cirque du Papier origami by Michael Roy from 4 to 6pm; 1 and 4pm Dot, drum circle. Various art displays and demonstrations will be held during the event.


Ultraman Hospital Women’s Committee’s Angel Auction in Guangzhou
The annual angel auction was held at the Guangzhou Memorial Civic Center on Saturday.
The “Charleston Charm” event is hosted by the Women’s Committee at Altman Hospital.
Since its founding in 1969, the Women’s Committee has raised more than $28 million to support major projects at Altman Hospital. The group has committed to raising $4.2 million over the next five years to support two large projects, including a major hospital lobby renovation.
Champagne, hors d’oeuvres and drinks starting at 5:30 pm Southern-inspired dinner and live auction at 7 pm, followed by live entertainment by the LDNL band. Specialty wines will be served.
A $5,000 cash draw is planned. Wine baskets and Gucci Marmont bags will also be included in the auction.

“Super Scott” artwork by Cyrus Framing in Canton
The “Super Scott’s Amazing World of Mashups” art exhibit opens Friday at Cyrus Custom Framing & Art Gallery, 2645 Cleveland Ave., from 6-9pm.
Inspired by Picasso, Van Gogh and Gauguin, artist Scott Simler uses simple brushstrokes to create intricate scenes of joy and fun.

Simler has become a leading artist in the Canton Arts District, where he works at Just Imagine Gift Gallery, a unique art program that allows adult artists with developmental disabilities to discover their creativity.
The event is hosted by Just Imagine, The Workshops Inc. and Cyrus Custom Framing & Art Gallery.
Simler’s art exhibition was held with funding from the Ohio Arts Council.
Marsillon’s “Golden Boy” Tribute Show
Spotlight Entertainment will be hosting a “Golden Girls” tribute show Saturday at 7:30pm at the Lions Lincoln Theater in downtown Massillon.
The comedy show includes material based on three of the most famous episodes of the popular TV show and ends with a murder mystery.
VIP tickets are $30; first floor tickets are $25; balcony and wheelchair access seats are $20.

Union Cemetery Tour and Peek Inside the Mausoleum
The Union Historical Society has scheduled self-guided tours of Union Cemetery on Sundays from 1-4pm.
The tour begins at Mainwaring Church off Rockhill Avenue. Signs will be posted at 26 locations throughout the cemetery and provide information about the grave’s importance.
City Mausoleum and Morgan Mausoleum will be open for tours.
Participants will hear a narration using the Clio app on their smartphone or scanning a QR code at each stop. Historical Society members will help guide people through the cemetery while answering questions.
The cemetery was built in 1867.

The Terror Factory on Friday the 13th
Guangzhou’s Haunted House Factory will be holding events on Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 11pm to commemorate Friday the 13th and “Halfway through Halloween.”
