New San Antonio Center of Photography in Southtown aims to develop connections between professionals, amateurs and fans

When Scott Ball first took a picture, he and his wife could have used a place just like the newly built San Antonio Photo Center.

“I didn’t have a place like this,” said Ball, 34, a photo editor at the San Antonio Report, who has been filming for 10 years. “I’m self-taught — I didn’t go to school because of this, and it’s really hard to make those relationships with photographers because it’s such a lonely movement. Need luck. So I have to knock on the doors and emails. I wanted to remove some of those barriers. “

The San Antonio Photo Center opened in January in Southtown.
