«At one point, my husband Alexander and I realized we needed a relaxing and quiet place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and our daily lives. It is important for my son to grow up outdoors near nature ». -Designer Veronica Bagrintseva about her country house.

«Finally, I found a picturesque area with a forest house 60km away from Minsk. The plot is in an abandoned small village surrounded by old poplars and wild pools.
To save on wooden log houses, we choose «prefabricated» construction technology. The old log hut was accurately insulated by the new frame structure.

This technique is very complex and requires an accurate and explicit construction approach. The main building must be consistently manufactured, assembled, disassembled, delivered to parcels and reassembled. This requires a very detailed blueprint before starting the process.

Network engineering is located in the basement. Next, the screed, the finished concrete floor, is poured. This approach helps to avoid seams in floor tiles. This makes it look monolithic with a natural concrete pattern.

The main goal of our project was to integrate different rooms into one area where the son could freely enjoy cycling and roller skating. There are several architectural options for achieving this atmosphere effect.
-The spacious living room (old log house) is in the center of the house, surrounded by bedrooms, children’s bedrooms and kitchens, so we were able to escape from the corridor. The bathroom, wardrobe and entrance group are carefully hidden behind the kitchen. All main windows overlook the south side of the building and provide solar lighting all day long.
-The house has no doors other than the bathroom.
-There is no wardrobe in the bedroom, and the entrance group has only a large changing room.
-The terrace is spread all over the house. Given the weather conditions in Belarus, the terraces are quite high above the ground due to heavy rain and snow. It provides a dry and clean space around the house. A terrace fence decorated with lush bushes.
-The 5.5 meter high sloping roof also adds value to the interior.

The entire engineering system of the building is hidden in a boiler room with a separate entrance from the outside. The main sources of home heating are hot water floors and fireplaces.
Polished wood, concrete floors, slabs and all materials colored in white are selected for maximum naturalness. All of these are the ideal backdrop for many decorative details obtained from our trips or presented by friends. Some of them have been rebuilt from the old elements of Forester’s house.

For example, the huge wooden countertop in the kitchen is made of old doors. Braided Bali lampshade kindly presented by a friend of mine. The kitchen I got from my client. It was basically wenge color, but I recolored it to graphite and changed the composition. An antique piano has moved from a close friend. My husband is a cellist. Thanks to him, our house is full of various musical instruments. The atmosphere of the interior perfectly reflects our lifestyle, including love for travel, musical evenings, and long and cozy nights in the large dining of a warm company.

The combination of modern interior elements and those with a long history helps to express the character of the family. A solemn and minimalist fireplace, armchairs with soft and luxurious furniture, braided lampshades, wall art, private archive photos, concise chairs and coarse wooden tables, shiny cookware hoods, stiff styles. Kitchen. Sunlight and nature are also very important figures in the interior. Depending on the location of the sun, the color of the wooden wall changes from bright yellow to a shade of honey orange.

Purity and simplicity. This is the most suitable “burnhouse” interior style for our project. This interior trend points to the beginning of the 20th century when farmers began adapting utility hangars to their homes. Rough wood texture, natural stone color (concrete in our case), linen and cotton, open layout of the building. But it’s not easy to refer to our interior in a particular style, as it comes from the family needs, our vision of personal beauty, comfort and comfort.

As a result, we have succeeded in creating a truly native place where you can feel the influence of love and family history ».
