Shoplifters brawled guards on Tuesday morning at Duein Reed in Manhattan. A robbery that happened right in front of the post office, as I reported on a previously armed robbery at the same store.

Fraka caught in the camera took place at a drugstore in 410 Park Ave. South after 10 am, and security guard Augustine Nwando is trying to leave the store without paying for a bag full of items. He said he noticed that.

Nwand shouted at the suspect to stop, leading to a brawl spilling on the sidewalk between East 27th and 28th Avenues, and right in front of the post reporter and photographer.

After a while, a former NYPD sergeant, David John, who happened to be in the neighborhood, stood up and helped Nwand and Shutterbug detain the man until the police arrived and arrested him.

When asked by a reporter what he was trying to steal, the man replied “shampoo” while still in custody.

Then he went to his mother and said, “Don’t ask me.”

The bag he allegedly had contained about 12 bottles of shampoo and conditioner, including Pantene and Tresenme products.

The suspect was strangled by police on the scene, but said the NYPD did not have immediate information about the incident.

“Every day, this store is robbed. People think they can steal what they want,” said 52-year-old Nwand.

The post is in Duein Reed and reported the story from January 27 — when a man and a woman swiped four packages of paper towels while threatening workers in the same store.

When a female employee confronted the suspect, the man allegedly pulled out a utility knife and threatened to “continue recording, I would hurt you” before the pair escaped.

John, 59, lamented the recent surge in retail store thefts across Big Apple. As a result, Rite Aid Chain closed a store in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen district last week.

He blamed former Mayor Bill de Blasio for his progressive policy situation, saying “De Blasio handcuffed police and released criminals.”

Nwando claimed that the store was robbed every day.

“The criminals are watching the news,” said John, who was nearby because he was taking his son to the exam to become a NYPD police officer.

“So what would you do if you knew you could come in and grab something and they wouldn’t touch you? You go there and grab something and earn a few dollars. “
