A description of the text provided by the architect. TEKUNIDUA brings out the true style of today’s Asian architecture. TEKUNIDUA is an apartment living project with 4 garden rooms, 4 standard rooms, 4 suites, and 1 pent house in an 800 square meter area with a floor area of 1000 square meters. Inspired by Asian architecture, DDAP Architect boasts a diverse range of Asian materials, spaces and scales as the potential character and soul of the project. Located in the bustling area of Kuta Bali, TEKUNIDUA offers a new skyline to the cityscape, playing with squares, heights, protruding and concave facades. The client wants a set of aesthetic principles similar to the previous Luang Techni and wants to bring an oasis to the peak areas of the city. DDAP responds to the user’s senses and tensions by playing with scales, lights, shadows, breeze, winds, and scents.

The architect’s simple mission is to move all the beautiful recycled materials from the client’s warehouse and apply them to the project. The client’s warehouse surprisingly contains not only recycled wood, but also natural materials, used high-quality furniture, recycled tiles, granite, marble, and unique second-hand accessories. Architects need to think about how these materials can be harmoniously incorporated into the project and assembled to represent the memories of the owner’s timber business journey. “I feel that these materials have a soul, so when applied to this project, the soul is attached and felt by the user.” The use of recycled and recycled materials not only helps reduce project budgets, but is also incorporated into sustainability principles.

From the warehouse, more than 10 sets of refurbished traditional Chinese trusses were applied to emphasize the entrance, façade, and especially as the interior decoration part of the upper room and penthouse. In addition, 60 used Chinese herbal sublimation bottles are located in the sunshine area, providing a beautiful lighting effect on the floor and a privacy barrier for the pool. To extend the staircase area, recycled table legs were applied as the facade of the north screen, creating a complex pattern in the building. Recycled teak worked well on almost every element of the design, including columns, walls, roofs, and even interiors. Recycled Javanese sugar moldings have been changed as room numbers for a detailed touch.

Asia is known for its diversity, as is TEKUNIDUA. Architects emphasize the variety of materials from the owner’s warehouse and turn it into a beautiful project. There are many types of materials, not just one. Not only Bali, but the equipment comes from Java, and some from China. “We feel we have completed a simple mission. Exploring the potential of recycled materials from the owners has enabled the renewal of the embedded soul and the unique story of the project itself. In principle, we still act on the basis of neatness. This step may be our first step to bring out the true style of Asian architecture today. “
